Médis is aware of the Portuguese concerns and as such has now available, in options 2 and 3 of its insurance coverage, a Reinforced Cancer Protection.  

This reinforcement is a direct reply to the extent that cancer has in the Portuguese population, and represents a step further by the insurance company towards being the preferred Personal Health Service of the Portuguese.

The Reinforced Cancer Protection, available in the options most sought out in the insurance policies (option 2 and 3) and increases the protection of the Clients with cancer diagnosis through:

• Double the capital for hospital and outpatient context. In case of option 3 the capitals are unlimited;
• Coverage of Prostheses and Orthoses for Oncology and provision of Support Services, such as transportation and appointments, home-nursing, psychological support, among others;
• Reinforcement of the Médis helpline, being available to answer questions, assist and support, manage all the needs and following-up, in a direct and personal manner, cancer patients.
• Strengthening the literacy on health and Prevention, by making available clinical manuals about cancer and a personal prevention plan.

Activating the Reinforced Cancer Protection has no added values for the Client and can be done since being diagnosed*.

During 2018, 18 million new cases of cancer were detected throughout the world, of which approximately 60 thousand in Portugal**. In the upcoming two decades it is expected a 60% worldwide increase in the incidence of cancer which, accordingly, will be ever more present in our lives. In this context arises Médis’ Reinforced Cancer Protection.
