We invited employees to measure their sweetness.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, the Ageas Portugal Group has carried out a transversal initiative for all its Employees to prevent and monitor Diabetes.
Diabetes
The dimension of Diabetes in Portugal makes it an inescapable theme: 40.3% of the Portuguese population between the ages of 20 and 79 has Diabetes or Hyperglycemia intermedia; are 3.1 million people. *
Diabetes Type 2 corresponds to about 90% of the prevalence of Diabetes in Portugal, being a silent disease that develops throughout life, associated with sedentarism, less healthy eating habits, family history, among others. In the vast majority of cases, it can be avoided, as long as the risk is detected in a timely manner.
Knowing the risk factors and making an early diagnosis of the risk, or of the disease itself when it is installed, is thus key to fighting Diabetes and its consequences.

Médis partnership with APDP
To address the issue of Diabetes in the Ageas Portugal Group, Médis has established a partnership with the Associação Portuguesa de Diabetes em Portugal (APDP), a Private Institution of Social Solidarity with recognized values both in research and in the prevention and treatment of Diabetes.
From this partnership was born the co-creation with Médis of the pioneering pilot project Mede a Tua Doçura.
