The first edition of the Financial Literacy project of Fundação Ageas in partnership with Mentes Empreendedoras is coming to its final stages. The last phase of the challenge, the boot-camp, takes place on June 7th, in the Secondary School Luís de Freitas Branco, in Paço de Arcos.
In this boot-camp the 10 best teams 10 will pitch their works and the jury, composed by Bárbara Barroso (Founder of Money Lab); Carlos Nunes (Chairman of AAAFEP); Nélson Machado (CEO for Life and Pensions of Grupo Ageas Portugal); Constança Casquinho (Teacher at Nova SBE); Afonso Mendonça Reis (Mentes Empreendedoras), among others, will pick the 3 winning teams.
Ori€nta-te, is an initiative that embodies the challenge of sensitizing the youngster generation for the need to have an informed financial management, to save and prepare for the future, and it takes the form of a competition aimed at 3rd Cycle students and teachers within the Greater Lisbon. The challenge took place during 2019 and included the participation of nearly 20 schools from 7 municipalities in the district of Lisbon. During the training phase, 1395 students and 30 ambassadors (teachers and students) participated in 174 workshops, covering topics such as income, expenses and family budgeting, and over 70 team-works were submitted for the competition.
The three winning teams are entitled to prizes: the third place will spend the day visiting "Parque dos Monges"; the second group will be awarded with a weekend at the "My Camp" amusement park; and the great winner will travel to Brussels to visit an activity park, the European Parliament and the headquarters of the Ageas International Group. Their schools shall receive 500€ worth in school material.
